HHB welcomes Patrizio Piraino – Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town, South Africa – as a new HHB Fellow.
He was previously a Research Economist at Statistics Canada, and he has also been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of California-Berkeley.
Prof. Piraino’s main fields of interest are labor economics, education, and development. His research focuses broadly on the determinants of socioeconomic disadvantage. He has led a large cross-institutional collaborative work on “Education and Social Protection to Alleviate Poverty,” which involved a consortium of 19 universities around the world (largely from emerging regions).
