HHB welcomes Olga Cantó Sánchez - Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Alcalá, Spain, and Member of EQUALITAS - as a HHB Researcher.
She holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute (1998), with a thesis on “The Dynamics of Poverty in Spain 1985-1992: the Permanent and Transitory Poor”.
Her main research interests focus on the dynamics of income distribution, poverty, income inequality, gender discrimination in the labor market and the assessment of the distributional impact of public policies.
HHB welcomes Carolina Román - Assistant Professor at the Economics Institute of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of the Republic in Uruguay and PhD candidate in Economic History at the University of Barcelona, Spain - as a HHb Researcher.
She obtained her Master’s degree in Economic History and she has a B.A. in Economics from the University of the Republic (Uruguay). Her research covers the fields of economic history and development economics, and her work currently focuses on consumption, living standards and historical national accounts in Latin America.
HHB welcomes Massimo Baldini - Associate Professor of Public Economics and Member of CAPP (Centre for the Analysis of Public Policies) at the Department of Economics, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia - as a HHB Fellow.
Prof. Baldini has published several books in Italian on the themes of inequality, poverty, income distribution, public policies and housing: Diseguaglianza e Redistribuzione nel Ciclo di Vita, Il Mulino (1997); La Ricchezza dell’Equità, Distribuzione del reddito e condizioni di vita in un’area ad elevato benessere, Il Mulino, (2004, together with P. He holds a BA in Economics from the Facoltà di Economia e Commercio di Modena (1990), a MSc in Economics from the University College London (1994) and a PhD in Economics from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on “Inequality and redistribution over the life-cycle” (1996).
HHB welcomes Bruno Gabriel Witzel de Souza - PhD student at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany - as a HHB Researcher.
Bruno Gabriel Witzel de Souza holds a BA in Economics from the Universidade de São Paulo and a MA in Development Economics from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, where he is also associate of the Research Training Group 1723 “Globalization and Development”.
His research is focused on the impacts of immigrants on long-run economic development and comparative history of immigration to Brazil, especially to the state of São Paulo.
HHB welcomes Monica Bozzano - Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy - as a HHB Researcher.
She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pavia and she received her master in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Sydney. Her research interests are in economic growth, economic history, and gender economics. In particular she is interested in the interaction between long-run development and institutions in a historical perspective, with a special focus on gender issues.
